Search is different
than other types of advertising (which is why it is so
exciting). Print - television - radio: people are there for the content
and, while they are there, they are exposed to an advertisement.
Think about how that
compares with the way that search works.
Someone is on their computer searching for something specific.
They are sitting at their computer t-y-p-i-n-g a word or phrase
that may pertain directly to your product or service.
They may find you, or,
if you are not visible they may find your competitor. Capitalizing on this requires a different strategy than what
most of us have used in the past.
Google
AdWords is the twin of search except you have much more
control over how and when your website information appears when
certain keywords and phrases you have chosen are searched. One
of the best features of this amazing marketing tool is that you
only pay if somebody actually clicks through to your
website. Otherwise you pay nothing for the display of your ad.
E-Mail
is a huge opportunity to market to a (segmented) list that you own.
Anyone that is or could ever be a prospect for your product or
services should be on that list unless they have opted out. Your
list and auto-responder program allows you to implement a
long-term marketing campaign that could include communication
pieces such as: E-mail Campaigns, Offers, Newsletters

action. That could mean a sale, data capture, or a prospect initiated contact
(they call you)
depending on the goal of your website.
There is a science to conversion and
a great body of knowledge exists on the subject. This is due to
a scientific approach referred to as analytics and a proven
marketing best practice known as split-testing. The digital
